Mid City Little League

Eligibility

As a Little League member, rules governing eligibility to play on a team at Mid City Little League are set by the Little League Organization, our local Little League district (District 33), and the Mid City Bylaws.  Based on these governing rules, eligibility to play on a Mid City team is based on two requirements: age and residency.

Age Requirements

Mid City fields teams at the following levels:

Tee Ball       (Ages 4-6)
Rookies(Ages 6-8)
Minors(Ages 8-10)
Majors(Ages 10-12)
Juniors(Ages 12-14)

Rules governing a player's age are set by Little League.  A player's age for a season is determined by their age on August 31 of that season.  For example, a player born on August 31, 2015 would be league age 10 for the 2025 season, while a player born on September 1, 2025 would be league age 9 for the 2025 season.

For assistance determining your player's age for the upcoming season, please refer to the 2025 Little League Age Chart.

Mid City Little League strives to adhere to these age ranges for all players, but we also recognize that all players develop differently at certain ages and may need accommodations.  Players may have challenges that affect their development and require them to to move up or down a level compared to the listed ages.  Providing a safe and welcoming atmosphere is our highest priority, so if you feel there is a reason why your child's ability fall outside of the age range for a particular level please bring it to our attention so we can conduct an individual assessment of your child and place them in the level most appropriate for their skills.

Residency Requirements

Residency requirements are set by Little League and can be established by either your home address on February 1 of the league year or by the school at which your child attends.  If either is within our league boundaries, Mid City is your home league.  Our boundaries are defined by the yellow area below:

To verify Mid City is your home league, please check your address or your child's school address.

Little League recognizes there are certain reasons why players wish to play in leagues that are not their designated league.  Playing in a different league may help with carpooling, may be more convenient for a parent's schedule, or may allow a player to play with family members or friends.  If your home address or child's school falls outside our boundaries but you want to join the Mid City community, please reach out to us so we can see if we can accommodate your family.
